The Bottled Water IndustryOf all the product packaging used in the United States, plastic bottles are recycled the most. Even so, beverage companies are constantly finding ways to use less plastic in their manufacturing process. Unfortunately, the media and government officials has chosen to focus their attention on bottled water rather than making the more logical move toward improving recycling rates for all types of consumer packaging, something that needs to happen if the state of the environment is to be improved.Fact: Bottled water containers make up only .3 percent of the entire municipal waste stream in the United States. Consumers use thousands of packaged foods and beverages each day, many of which are non-recyclable or have non-recyclable components. Water bottles are absolutely 100% recyclable, and consumers can and should take the proper steps to see that they are recycled through the system available in their area. The bottled water industry is just one of the many environmentally conscious American industries trying hard to reduce its ecological footprint, but we cannot do this alone; consumers must be made aware that the solution lies not in eliminating or avoiding bottled water, but in recycling the bottles after they have served their purposes so that the environment is spared and future consumers can reap the benefits. The bottled water industry is a leader in environmental conservation. The Drinking Water Research Foundation found less than 0.02%, or 2/10 of a single percent, of all the ground water drawn in the United States annually is used for bottled water. This shows just how little ground water is actually used to make the bottled water enjoyed by millions, making it one of the most efficient consumer goods available. What's more, despite the negligible amount of ground water it uses compared with other industries, bottled water producers actively work with states to develop thorough and scientifically sound ground water management and sustainability laws and programs. Another important fact to consider is that, despite the widely believed myth that bottled water's growing popularity is negatively impacting the amount of plastic in the environment, our industry has seen recent growth mostly because consumers are drinking water in place of less healthy beverages such as juice and soda. And because water bottles tend to weigh 30%-40% less than similarly sized soda containers, switching to bottled water actually reduces the total amount of plastic released into the environment. Our RoleAt iWantMyH2O.com, we do our own part to help the environment Our bottles are made of PET, or Polyethylene Terephthalate, one of the most easily recycled types of plastic present in consumer packaging. It can be taken to virtually any recycling center, and in many cities is even picked up for recycling by the local garbage man. It takes only a small effort on the part of the consumer to see that these bottles never make it to the landfill.A portion of the plastic we use is from recycled plastic. we have made every effort to ensure our entire packaging is recyclable, our caps are translucent and are fully recyclable- colored caps are not recyclable, Our labels are plastic as well, paper labels that go thru the recycling process gunk up at the bottom of the equipment. Our labels are heat sealed to the bottle to ensure they go to the recycle center, not get peeled off and possibly littered about. Our spring and bottling facility are located on the same property reducing trucking and fuel use, we also blow our own bottles, they are made in the USA, not imported and trucked from Mexico as too many bottles are. Our electric utility company has incorporated the GREEN SWITCH into our electric services, meaning they have added and continue to add more sustainable energy resources to create electricity. Can you tell we are excited about GREEN! Order personalized water bottles now! 1-866-519-1333 PROUDLY
